Linking Contacts
Overview
ContactCube lets you pick six of your favorite photos and paste them on the sides of a 3-D cube that appears in the main view. Each photo can also be linked to any Contact entry in your iPhone or iPod Address Book.
Basic ContactCube navigation begins with the Tab Bar at the bottom of the screen. The Cube tab displays the current 3D cube and has all the functionality described in Manipulating the Cube. The Settings tab contains views for Choose Photos, Link Contacts , About and Help.
Manipulating the Cube
Drag your finger in any direction on the main view. The cube will rotate to follow your gesture.
Tap on the Auto-Rotate button. The cube will begin to randomly spin on any of its 3 axes. Auto-Rotation will continue until you:
- Tap the Stop button.
- Tap on the cube.
- Tap on the Reset Cube button.
- Select the Settings tab.
Tap on the cube. If the cube is rotating, Auto-Rotation will stop. If you’ve tapped on a photo that has a Contact entry linked to it, the Contact entry will be displayed. Once the Contact entry is displayed, you can:
- Tap the Edit button to edit the contact record. Full editing control is available.
- Tap an email address to invoke the Mail app and send a message to that address.
- Tap a phone number (iPhone only). A pop-up window gives you the choice of initiating a phone call, sending a text message or canceling the operation.
- Tap on a url to open that address in Safari.
Tap on the Reset Cube button. If the cube is rotating, Auto-Rotation will stop. The cube will return to its default position, with the Front photo facing forward.

Choosing Photos
- On the Settings tab, select Choose Photos.
- ContactCube will display a view showing all six photos. Tap on a photo to begin the steps to replace it.
- ContactCube will display the PhotoPicker, which will let you pick photos from the device’s camera (Camera Roll) or any saved photos that have been synced via iTunes.
- Once you’ve chosen a photo, it will be displayed in the Crop Image view. A cropping square will be superimposed on the photo.
- Drag the cropping square with your finger to select the area of the photo to appear on the cube.
- Use a pinching gesture to re-size the cropping square and enlarge a portion of the photo to appear on the cube.
- Press the Crop button on the Navigation Bar to continue to the next step.
- The Finalize Image view will display the cropped image. You can then rotate the image clockwise or counter-clockwise or select a Contact entry from your Address Book to link to the photo. Tap on the Finalize button to place that image on the cube. ContactCube will return to the step 2 with the new photo in place. Select the Cube tab to see your new photo in position on the cube.

Linking Contacts
There are two different ways to link a photo on the cube to a Contact entry in your Address Book.
- On the Settings tab, select Link Contacts. ContactCube will display a view showing all six photo, each with a caption showing the current contact link or "[unassigned]" if there is no link. Tap on a photo and Address Book list will be displayed. Tap on the desired Contact entry and the link will be established.
- When adding a new photo to the cube, the Finalize view (the last step in the process) contains a button labeled "Link Contact" on the right side of the Navigation Bar. Tap on that button and the Address Book list will be displayed. Tap on the desired Contact entry and the link will be established.
